As temperatures tick up in the summer months, city dwellers start shedding.
Tanks are swapped out for camisoles. The linen pants of May fade away, and bare legs become the only thing anyone can stand. Toes creep out at the office. The guiding principle of dressing, in the dog days, is as little as you can get away with.
But walk around Manhattan, and you’ll see something that feels contradictory. Are those boots? In the summer?
